Overview

Motor City Electric has partnered with DTE Energy and ITC to construct the new Gramer Station, a 120/40 kV Class ‘D’ substation located in Lenox Township, Michigan. This project aims to enhance grid reliability and support future system upgrades with a scalable design capable of expansion to 69 kV operation.

Project Scope Highlights:

  • Construction of the 120kV yard (ITC) and 40kV yard (DTE)
  • Full installation of 120 kV circuit switchers, 40 kV breakers, and disconnect switches
  • Installation of potential transformers, voltage regulators, and lightning masts
  • Construction of a new equipment enclosure, house service support, control building, and restroom facility
  • Complete electrical work, power cabling, duct bank systems, and communications
  • Execution of all site civil work, including foundations, stormwater features, and restoration
  • Fabrication of all standard shape steel supports for the electrical equipment by MCEU
