At Motor City Electric Co., we’ve been leading the way in electrical prefabrication for more than 40 years. What began as an investment in efficiency has grown into one of the most advanced prefab operations in the industry, backed by multimillion-dollar investments in equipment, technology, and purpose-built facilities.

Our network includes 32,000 sq. ft. metal fabrication center, 61,000 sq. ft. prefab,10,000 sq. ft. panel fabrication shop, 50,000 sq. ft. indoor storge, MMES Lansing 80,000 sq. ft. prefabrication facility with 400,000 sq. ft. outdoor storage. Each site is designed to keep projects moving faster, safer, and more efficiently. We have equipped our teams with state-of-the-art Crippa tube benders, Scotchman marking system, Smart DX benders, precision water jet systems, new welding stations, custom trailers, and a modern fleet of trucks to support seamless delivery and installation.

Every assembly we build is planned with precision, labeled by job and location, and either shipped directly to site or stored in our climate-controlled warehouse, ready when the schedule demands it. On-site, our crews install prefabricated systems directly per the BIM model, dramatically reducing rework, delays, and cost overruns.

What truly sets MCE apart is how early we get involved. Our in-house VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) and ACP (Advanced Construction Planning) teams’ partner with project engineers and design teams from day one to identify opportunities for value engineering and constructible prefab solutions before construction begins. This proactive approach eliminates bottleneck coordination, saves material and labor, and improves both safety and schedule certainty.
