Overview

DTE Energy, a Detroit-based diversified energy company, serves approximately 2.3 million electric customers and 1.3 million natural gas customers across Michigan. The company is actively modernizing its infrastructure to enhance reliability and support a cleaner energy future.

DTE Energy’s overhead electric distribution infrastructure is a critical component of its service network. This system comprises a vast network of poles, wires, transformers, and other equipment, predominantly operating at 4.8kV and 13.2kV voltages.

Motor City Electric Utilities (MCEU) assists in building and maintaining this critical infrastructure for DTE Energy as one of their baseload contractors in the Shelby and Lapeer service areas. MCEU has 10 overhead distribution crews dedicated to these areas, working on projects daily to support DTE Energy. These projects include:

  • Pole Top Maintenance
  • Circuit Conversions
  • Reconductor
  • Customer Excellence
  • Storm Restoration
  • Trouble/Follow-up Work

MCEU has been performing overhead distribution work for DTE Energy for over 10 years.
