Following the impacts of Hurricane Helene in South Carolina, overhead electric distribution systems sustained widespread damage due to high winds, falling trees, and heavy rain. Restoration efforts focused on rapidly assessing damage, clearing debris, and repairing downed power lines and poles to restore service to affected communities.
Motor City Electric Utilities (MCEU) crews worked around the clock under challenging conditions to safely and efficiently restore power, prioritizing critical infrastructure and densely populated areas. Coordination with emergency services and local agencies ensured a streamlined response and recovery process.
MCEU assisted with this restoration effort for over a month, deploying 10 distribution crews on Duke Energy’s property.
